This adapter supports both Android Open Accessory (AOA) mode and USB On-The-Go (OTG) mode. AOA mode is where the DA1 behaves as a USB Host device, and provides its own power. And OTG mode is where the DA1 behaves as an accessory, and draws charge from the connected USB OTG phone or tablet. This is a level of compatibility not offered by the majority of USB micro-B to USB-C adapters available off-the-shelf or as conventionally supplied with phones or tablets equipped with a USB-C connector. And so this adapter ensures maximum flexibility and compatibility between devices for users of the Catalyst system.
